Macklind Mile

Ok all you race enthusiasts here is a great way to start off your 4th of July celebration. A one mile race downhill following Macklind Avenue which is located in South St. Louis City.
The race begins at 9:00 am at the South City YMCA, 3150 Sublete and finishes at Big River Running 5352 Devonshire in the heart of the Macklind Business District. This is a family fun race for all ages, so the whole family can sprint, stroll or swagger the one mile course.
The Macklind Avenue Mile begins at Macklind and Sublette, just southwest of the YMCA parking lot. Runners and walkers will head straight DOWN Macklind Avenue before finishing in front of Big River Running Company on Devonshire and Macklind. The course drops 180 feet in elevation from start to finish with the third quarter of the race seeing the biggest drop. The race finishes with a roughly 300 meter straightaway so you will have to earn that fast finish!
