5th Annual Sixth District Police Luncheon
By Mary Miller Cullins
The 5th Annual luncheon for the Sixth District Police & Business Partnership was held this week at the St. Louis Dream Center. Police officers in the Sixth District received awards for their excellent work in 2011. John Abrams, President of the Police-Business Partnership, has owned and operated his business for over 40 years. The afternoon began with the Posting of Colors by the Color Guard and a beautiful rendition of our National Anthem by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department choir.
Master of Ceremonies, Guy Phillips of Y98 radio, kept the afternoon lively with his colorful descriptions of the awardees and special guests. Chief of Police, Dan Isom remarked how important the relationship is between the officers and the sixth district businesses. He thanked the aldermen who are served by the sixth district police for their help in getting the citizens involved in the Neighborhood Model they are using to fight crime.
Lewis Reed, President of the Board of Aldermen, along with Alderman Troupe, Alderwoman Flowers, Alderman French, Aldermen Boyd, and Alderman Carter, sponsored a resolution for Officer Lafeal Lawshea.
P.O. Lawshea received recognition not only as Officer of the Month for February, but also as Officer of the Year. Congratulations Officer Lawshea!

These men and women risk their lives everyday for our us. They protect our children and our property. These officers make their district their community family. And when it comes to family…..they are always their for us!
