State Treasurer Clint Zweifel has awarded $1.3 million in low-interest Missouri Linked Deposit Program loans to Nikco Sports in Chesterfield, Mo., and Arnold Rental Center in Arnold, Mo.
“Nikco Sports and Arnold Rental Center have each purchased new buildings to expand their growing businesses,” Treasurer Zweifel said. “The Missouri Linked Deposit Program offers small businesses the low-interest capital they need to add jobs, buy that second location or start from scratch. Nearly a billion dollars has been approved in loans for small businesses and farms since I took office. That means new jobs, new stores and stronger communities. I continue to work with lenders across the state to make sure small businesses and farmers have the tools they need.”
The $869,000 loan for Nikco Sports will save it an estimated $69,000 in interest over the next five years should it choose to take out loans for that period. Nikco Sports is a national sports memorabilia company with 10 full-time employees. It specializes in collectibles for major sporting events such as the Super Bowl, NBA Championship, NCAA Final Four, Stanley Cup, MLB All-Star Game, World Series and the Olympics. The second location would not have been possible without the extra cash-flow the Missouri Linked Deposit Program provided. Midwest BankCentre partnered to make the loan.
The $500,000 loan for Arnold Rental Center will save it an estimated $35,000 in interest over the next five years should it choose to take out loans for that period. Arnold Rental Center has 10 full-time employees. It offers equipment rental such as skid steers, log splitters, ladders, lifts, trenchers and stump grinders. It rents to home owners and contractors. Commerce Bank partnered to make the loan.
