No Hockey How About M-I-Z-Z-O-U Basketball
Missouri basketball coach Frank Haith is licking his chops to get at the SEC basketball schedule. You see the basketball teams in SEC are no where near what the football teams are. Even with the Kentucky Wildcats and the Florida Gators in conference the talent falls off after those teams. It appears coach Haith’s Tigers will rank high as he brings a lot of experience back this season.
Missouri’s Monday night warm up against Northwest Missouri State to build chemistry for second teamers shows that Haith has prepared depth. Phil Pressey returns to run the show, transfers Earnest Ross (Auburn) and Keion Bell(Pepperdine) last year learned the system and are ready to absorb the majority of playing time up front. Freshman Negus Webster-Chan will shoot from the perimeter. Power forward Laurence Bowers is anxious to contribute after the injury wiped him out last season. Alex Oriakhi along with transfer Tony Criswell and freshman Ryan Rosburg have the coaches eye. Phenom freshman Stefan Jankovic (6-foot-11) and transfer Danny Feldmann (6-foot-9) finish off the front line. Corey Haith, yes its the coach’s son, looks like he can hang with the rest of the guys. Even with the great season they had last year it looks like Mizzou may be even better. Better defense and all around built better to go against a front line shoulder to shoulder.
