By Mary Miller Cullins
Steinberg Skating Rink in Forest Park opened at 10:00 a.m. today! “We are inviting all skaters to come by the rink and help us celebrate the opening of ice skating season,” said Anne Kasak, rink operator. “We have a new canopy of lights that bring the stars right down to the rink.”
Steinberg, the largest outdoor rink in the Midwest, is open every day, including holidays. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:00 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The fee to skate is $6, and if you need skates, you can rent them for $4. The entrance fee is good for a whole day of skating! The rink also has Wi-Fi and has added new televisions and coin operated lockers.
The Snowflake Cafe has full food service with a menu that offers appetizers, snacks, sandwiches, burgers, and pizza. Beer and wine are also available. There is seating inside as well as outside by the rink.
The folks over at the ice rink are expecting record crowds this year and welcome groups to come in and skate. Just pick up the phone and make sure you call for a reservation. Ice skating at St. Louis’ beautiful Forest Park, does it get any better? Happy Holidays!
