BOA Meeting December 7th

The 2nd to last Board of Aldermen meeting prior to to the Christmas/Holiday recess was held today, December 7th.  The meeting was presided over by President Lewis Reed, President of the Board of Aldermen.

The choir from Rosati Kain High School for the 6th year  entertained the Aldermen and visitors with their excellent singing voices prior to the Board meeting.

From their website, Rosati-Kain High School is a Catholic,  college preparatory school for young women who want to be challenged and supported in faith and in their efforts to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become their best selves contributing in the spirit of Jesus Christ to a changing, multi-cultural world community.

The Board of Aldermen held their weekly meeting, presided by Lewis Reed, President of the Board of Aldermen.

New Legislation

THIRD READ AND FINALLY PASSED

       B.B.#202 – Kennedy – An ordinance establishing a stop site for all

                       eastbound and westbound traffic traveling on McMillan at

                       Marcus; containing an emergency clause.

                       B.B.#203– Bosley – An ordinance directing the Director of Streets to

                       temporarily close, barricade or otherwise impede the flow of

                       traffic on College at the west curb line of Carter; containing an

                       emergency clause.

                       B.B.#204– Krewson/Ogilvie – An ordinance recommended by the Board of Public Service, establishing a public works and improvement project for the design and construction of various roadway infrastructure improvements on Skinker between Clayton Road, Clayton Avenue and Oakland Avenue between Skinker and

                       Hampton; and containing a public work emergency clause.

                       B.B.#205– Williamson/Boyd/Troupe – An ordinance recommended by the Board of Public Service, establishing a public works and

                       improvement project for the design and construction of the

                       second phase of the Dr. Martin Luther King Pedestrian Lighting

                       Project; containing a public work emergency clause.

                       B.B.#216– Wessels – An ordinance establishing a stop site for all

                       northbound and southbound traffic traveling on Arendes at

                       Dover causing it to be a three way stop intersection; containing                           

                       an emergency clause.

                       B.B.#219– Vaccaro – An ordinance establishing a stop site for all

                       eastbound and westbound traffic traveling on Scanlan at

                       Leola; containing an emergency clause.

                       B.B.#220– Vaccaro – An ordinance establishing a stop site for all

                       northbound and southbound traffic traveling on Tamm at

                       Smiley; containing an emergency clause.

                       B.B.#227– Vaccaro – An ordinance establishing a stop site for all

                       eastbound and westbound traffic traveling on Juniata at Clifton and

                       containing an emergency clause.

            B.B.#226– Arnowitz – An ordinance directing the Director of Streets to temporarily close, barricade, or otherwise impede the flow of traffic

These bills as required by ordinance were signed by President of the Board Lewis E. Reed and now are waiting the Mayor’s approval or veto.  

Seeing that no further business before the Board of Aldermen, President Lewis Reed adjourned the Board of Aldermen meeting until Friday, 2012 at 10:00.
