Backstoppers Presentation
Today at St. Louis City Hall a check from the proceeds of the November 21st Guns and Hoses Backstoppers boxing match was made to representatives of the Backstoppers organization.

On Nov. 21, area firefighters edged out police officers with a 12-9 team decision in the 26th annual Guns ‘N Hoses at Scottrade Center in St. Louis.

A $285,000 check was presented Guns ‘N Hoses board president David Stokes made a surprise donation of another $100,000, bringing the total raised since the inaugural boxing matches in 1987 to $4 million. Stokes is chief executive officer and president of Grey Eagle Distributors.

Budweiser Guns ‘N Hoses features three-round boxing matches between area Police Officers and Firefighters to raise money for The BackStoppers, the organization that provides immediate financial aid and long-term financial and other support to the families of Police Officers and Firefighters who lose their lives in the line of duty.

Gary & Larry Keeton of Keeton’s Double Play at 4944 Christy graciously supplied the food and refreshments for today’s announcement.
