Does Having a Gun Make You Safe?

After the shooting at the Sandy Hook elementary school in Connecticut, Missouri is looking to adjust it’s gun restrictions making gun laws more liberal while trying to make  it illegal to follow some the of the Federal gun laws.

President Barack Obama launched a number of reforms asking Congress to tighten up laws in an effort to reduce violence. But Missouri being  a heavy NRA state has lawmakers trying to reduce laws already in place as Missourians love their guns. The popularity of arms in Missouri is built around protection as Lawmakers successfully passed the Castle Doctrine law in 2007, allowing Missouri residents to use deadly force on home  intruders, and now the Castle statute  applies to any property invasion.

As a nation the overall threat of violence is a constant as the NRA reminds us that criminals have access to guns and our Second Amendment right gives us a balance. However prohibiting the enforcement of any new federal laws that restrict access to semiautomatic firearms or magazines should be reviewed for the few that slip past the guard and endangers us all.
